At San Diego Dental Specialists, we use an intraoral camera, a small pen-sized tool that shows you what we see when we examine your mouth. Used to diagnose and provide baselines for future care, all of our diagnostic equipment is digital and set to emit the lowest amount radiation – as much as 90% less radiation than with film x-rays.

We have created a relaxed and fun environment for your child’s first visit and instil the value of oral health. Baby & Me visits help ensure your baby’s oral health and nutritional needs.  This visit includes a gentle examination of your baby’s erupting teeth, gums, bite, and mouth tissues. We will help with preventive homecare techniques, leaving lots of time for questions. We can even discover and intercept issues before they become unexpected surprises.

At age seven, when children still have a mix of baby and permanent teeth, it’s an ideal time to assess their future oral health and make any recommendations to help them enjoy a beautiful and healthy smile throughout their lifetime. Our pediatric dentists and orthodontists team up to provide a high level of care. When needed, additional specialists may join us to give your child the best advantages in coordinated care.
